We dont need more landfill! 

Given the high volumes of corflute and polypropylene that Craftech has used over the years it seemed a shame that offcuts and used signs were being added to general waste. With this in mind, Craftech approached the local manufacturer of corflute, Corex Plastics to set up a program to recycle waste polypropylene material.

Given this was a major focus for Corex Plastic also they were quick to jump on board with a recycling program. Corex Plastics now regularly supply and collect waste corflute and polypropylene from Craftech. Waste material is reground and converted back into feed material for packaging and drainage products.

Craftech achieved the following results through its recycling program;

• 14.4 tonnes of polypropylene recycled in 2010
• 43 cubic tonnes of landfill avoided
• 7 metric tonnes of Carbon dioxide equivalent prevented
• 678 Gigajoules of energy saved
